MS/HS Assistant Cheer Coach (School Year 2025-26)

 

Position Description: The MS/HS Assistant Cheer Coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in leading, training, and mentoring the cheer team. This role includes assisting with choreography development, organizing practice schedules, preparing the team for performances and competitions, and promoting a positive and supportive team environment. The assistant coach will collaborate with school staff, communicate with parents, and help promote the cheer program within the community.

 

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year will align with the Negotiated Agreement.

 

Evaluation: Performance will be assessed according to the U.S.D. # 287 Board of Education's policy on the Evaluation of Certified Personnel.

Located in western Franklin County, the district is 35 miles southeast of Topeka, 30 miles southwest of Lawrence, and 10 miles west of Ottawa. The West Franklin School District is easily accessible from Osage City, Lyndon, Baldwin City, Ottawa, Lawrence, and Topeka.

 

Recently, the district's patrons passed a $13 million bond issue. Improvements at the WFMS/HS campus include a new storm shelter that will also serve as a weight room and music room, a 1,300-seat gymnasium, a new shop area for agriculture and woods programs, new high school offices, and an 8-lane track with field event areas. These improvements also connect all buildings on campus to enhance student safety.
